Abu Dhabi: A 'Pyrotechnic Spectacular' along with laser, lighting and fireworks is all set to mark the first full one-day international to be staged at the Zayed Cricket Stadium.
The Abu Dhabi Cricket Club have hired the Dubai-based HQ Creative for the 25-minute show during the break between the innings of the first India-Pakistan one-dayer on Tuesday in the DLF series.
Speaking to Gulf News, Jo Little, Production Manager of the show termed it as one of the largest ever seen in the UAE.
"We have been working on the show for over three months now.
"We have a special theme for the show which is 'giving, unity and hope'," said Little.
The company has been involved in the launch of DIFC, Ski Dubai and Dubai Festival City but said Tuesday's show will certainly be different as it is beamed live to millions of viewers.
"Over 500 school children from Indian and Pakistani schools in the capital and a sizable group drawn from all over the UAE will also be part of the show," she said. Special ramps have been erected to house the projectors all around the stadium.
"Apart from the pyrotechnics, a laser show and the lighting accompanied by fireworks has been planned and those witnessing it will certainly remember it for a long time," Little said.
"The cultural troop with live performances will add a new dimension to our themed show."
India meet Pakistan in the two back to back one day internationals to raise funds for the quake victims in the two countries.
The matches start at 3.30 pm on both days and the show is being planned during the break on Tuesday evening.
