Exclusive cookers in matchless range and finishes

KUWAIT CITY: Ali Abdulwahab Sons & Co launched on Wednesday the La Cornue Culinary Architecture in its showroom in Shuwaikh, bringing to Kuwait the more than a hundred years of historical excellence of La Cornue cookers that began in 1908 in France with the invention of a rotisserie - a vaulted oven by Albert Dupuy.

Ali Al-Mutawa, the General Manager of Ali Abdulwahab Sons & Co. expressed honor of being the exclusive dealer of La Cornue as he welcomed all the guests to its launching and introduced La Cornue President Xavier Dupuy and Ronan Le Mestre, La Cornue International Business Development Manager.

"For three generations, we have loved and served cuisine in the same way as a stringed-instrument craftsman loves and serves music. La Cornue cultivates an ideal of excellence. The ordinary has never satisfied our appetite. We are gourmets, gastronomes and food lovers!" stated Dupuy as he recounted the history of La Cornue cookers.

Dupuy, the grandson of the founder who has been running the family business for the past 25 years prides of La Cornue's utter devotion to excellence. He added that La Cornue cookers are designed first and foremost to be at the heart of the kitchen and to translate the shared pleasure of family good living. Just like a musical instrument, La Cornue has been a source of gourmet inspiration, a muse of flavours, and colours.

Unique in the world, La Cornue Culinary Architecture brings together not only its ranges but also units and furniture, ventilation, refrigerators, wine cellars, preparation tables, utensils and everything that a demanding amateur cook could dream of.

Functional
La Cornue offers a functional, structured kitchen area. The total layout projects known as Culinary Spaces illustrate classic French-style order, where priority is given to symmetry and rhythm and at the heart of every project lies the Chateau cooker.

"This prestigious line of legendary cookers is made exclusively to order and is made to measure in a matchless range of colours and finishes. Now including eight designs, the Chateau range is the jewel in the crown of production at La Cornue," pointed out Le Mestre. He added that the Chateau and Cornuchef ranges are individually hand-made with patience and pride in the workshops in Saint Ouen l'Aumone, near Paris, by artisans working according to the purest traditions.

Naturally, La Cornue makes use of modern technology and is forever improving its products, but no manufacturing changes made will ever alter its determination to preserve the noble values traditionally associated with handicraft production. He disclosed that they steadily build a few hundred Chateau per year, which they proudly dispatch to destinations all over the world.

"We take all of the time we need in order to make them correctly, which is to say according to our strictest quality criteria. We use only noble materials, selected and chosen for their quality and their longevity: cast iron, steel, solid brass, nickel and enamel. Most importantly, you can choose the colour and the design that you want. Every Chateau proudly bears a personalised plaque, engraved with its owner's name," Le Mestre explained.

To best demonstrate the La Cornue unique culinary experience, La Cornue Chef Patrick Laurent prepared and cooked French lunch from La Cornue for the guests and served them with Mille-Feuille de legumes grilles, roasted lamb and chicken and Paris-Brest for dessert.

La Cornue's brand has spread across the globe, in 30 countries in Europe, the US, Asia and now in the Middle East. La Cornue has been patronised by a number of celebrities in Hollywood, politicians and famous personalities around the world.
