KUWAIT, April 20 (KUNA) -- Kuwait will host the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization's (UNESCO) meeting of secretary-generals of national committees during May 7-9.
Speaking to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Friday, Secretary-General of Kuwait National Commission for UNESCO Abdul-latif Al-Buaijan said the meeting would discuss a number topics, noting that Kuwait would present a paper regarding the effective societal roles of disabled persons.
Established in 1979, the Kuwaiti commission cooperates with UNESCO, the Arab League Educational, Cultural, and Scientific Organization (ALESCO) and the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (IESCO) to develop a well-educated generation that respects human rights, he noted.
The commission, he added, had many activities, including elementary to high-school scholarships for non-Kuwaiti students in Kuwait's Religious Institute.
