BEIRUT, April 3 (KUNA) -- Kuwait was represented with a special pavilion in a celebration held by the private Lebanese-American University (LAU) marking the International Heritage Day.

The Kuwaiti pavilion was established by the Chairwoman of the Kuwaiti Club for Culture at the university, Farah Al-Hashem, 19, in coordination with the Kuwaiti Embassy.

The ceremony was opened today by the president of the university, Joseph Jabra, with attendance of the director of the embassy's Kuwaiti Cultural Office, Yousef Al-Roumi, the information attache, Zeina Al-Joaan, the Saudi Ambassador, Abdel Aziz Khoja, the representative of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) in Lebanon, Abbas Zaki, in addition to eminent cultural and academic figures.

In remarks to KUNA, Al-Hashem called on fellow students of Kuwait to join the newly-born club. The pavilion displays various Kuwaiti publications on the country's heritage, theatrical and literary works.
