Kuwait City - His Highness the Prime Minister, Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Wednesday inaugurated the world's biggest and most advanced automotive service center, the Yusuf Ahmed Alghanim & Sons Automotive Center in Shuwaikh.
Also on hand to grace the auspicious occasion were members of Kuwait's business elite, top company officials, representatives from General Motors and members of the local media.
The Kuwaiti Premier reportedly expressed his admiration at the impressive and grandiose scale of the new facility that Yusuf Ahmed Alghanim & Sons Co has undertaken and was said to be delighted that the world's biggest and most advanced service center had been built right in the heart of Kuwait and said it is and will always be a source of continuous pride for the country and its people.
Kutayba Yusuf Alghanim, Chairman, Alghanim Industries, who hosted His Highness the Prime Minister and other guests, gave an overview of the company's automotive legacy from its debut as Kuwait's biggest service center 48 years ago in 1960.
By inaugurating the world's biggest and most advanced automotive service center, it has not only continued a proud legacy but also opened a new chapter in automotive history that could be the biggest event in 2008.
Amenities
Kutayba Alghanim also explained in detail some of the revolutionary facilities and services along with amenities for the benefit of its customers, making the facility a source of pride for all Kuwaitis.
He then led His Highness the Prime Minister and all the guests on a guided tour on wheels, of the impressive facility for a first hand look and experience the harmonic environment created by a perfect balance of hospitality, technology and pleasure in the centrally air-conditioned work areas.
After the Prime Minister and his party had left, Omar Kutayba Alghanim, CEO, Alghanim Industries, held a press conference along with Maureen Kempston Darkes, Group Vice President & President, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East, General Motors; discussing the impressive features of the new facility that made it the world's biggest and most advanced.
He also explained some of the innovative technology supported by skilled professionals employed at the service center, saying the company intends to revolutionize the concept of providing best standard practices in motor vehicle servicing for the benefit of its Chevrolet, Cadillac, Hummer and Saab car owners.
General Motors' Maureen Kempston Darkes, in a statement said she was impressed with the striking enormity of the facility and commented that " we at General Motors are proud of our long and successful relationship with Yusuf Ahmed Alghanim & Sons and the opening of this service center is a testament to the dedication and commitment of the company to provide its customers exceptional services, care and satisfaction.
We are delighted to be working closely with one of General Motors' largest distributors in the Gulf," she concluded.
The new Yusuf Ahmed Alghanim Service Center in Shuwaikh covers a vast area of 73,000 sqm spread over three levels with 380 work bays and has a service capacity of over 1,000 vehicles daily; and all technicians have been meticulously trained to provide the fastest and most efficient service to customers.
It has several waiting lounges where customers can view their vehicles undergoing the service process either through the large glass windows or CCTV screens in total comfort while relaxing and enjoying a refreshing beverage from the café; surf the web on their laptops; or use PCs with internet access. It also has an X-cite boutique from Alghanim Electronics and a Kromozone accessories store; video games, a specialized children's play area; insurance renewal services; and car rental services all in one stop.
In concluding, Omar Kutayba Alghanim said that the initiative in establishing the new automotive service center is both a step towards providing their customers the utmost in comfort and satisfaction as well as a step closer towards their collaborative goal with General Motors to lead the way in fast-paced advances in automotive service.
