BEIRUT (Zawya Dow Jones)--State-owned refining firm Kuwait National Petroleum Co., or KNPC, will implement projects under the government's development plan worth about 10 billion Kuwaiti dinars ($34.68 billion), Kuwait-based Al Seyassah daily reports Monday citing an executive.

The projects include the new KWD4 billion refinery, the KWD4.5 billion environmental fuel project, and Mina Al Ahmadi refinery's KWD1 billion gas project, in addition to other strategic projects in Mina Al Ahmadi and Mina Abdullah refineries, Asaad Al Saad, KNPC's vice chairman and deputy managing director for Mina Al Ahmadi refinery, told the paper.

KNPC has recently completed a number of projects that include, among others, a project to extract ethene gas from Kuwait Oil Co.'s supply of associated gas, in addition to completing and operating a terminal to receive gas at Mina Al Ahmadi refinery which is crucial for the country's gas importation, Saad said according to the daily.
