KUWAIT CITY: KFH announced on Wednesday it would be the 1st bank in Kuwait to start issuing KNET debit cards using chip technology. KFH would now offer its customers a new more secured option with MasterCard branded Chip debit cards. These cards would be used as KNET cards locally and as international debit card worldwide. KFH is proud to have partnered with MasterCard International in making this possible.

Visa International & MasterCard International announced a shift in liability starting January 2006 for the region, where the customers having chip cards have the highest security against fraud compared to those that don't.

As an added security KFH customers getting these Chip debit cards will be asked for their PIN (personal identification number) to be entered when making purchases abroad, when the transaction is on a Chip enabled POS terminal.

Mohamed Al-Fouzan Assistant General Manager Banking Sector said, KFH is committed to continue developing new solutions that protect and offer world-class advantages to KFH customers. He said he was proud that today KFH credit cards and now the debit cards were the safest way to pay. The major advantage of this product is its highest level of security, besides increased recognition and acceptability around the world due to the MasterCard signage. Al-Fouzan, also said KFH takes pride in offering its customers peace of mind while accessing their funds anytime, anywhere in the world.
