KUWAIT, Sept 20 (KUNA) -- His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, accompanied by His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and deputy head of National Guards Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, visited Kuwait Army Club on Saturday.
Sheik Sabah was received by Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Army Chief of Staff Air Marshal Fahad Ahmad Al-Ameer, members of the Defense Council and senior Army officers.
His Highness the Amir praised loyalty of the personnel of the Kuwaiti Army in defending the country.
Sheikh Sabah, addressing the gathering, said the developments in the region required vigilance of all sectors of armed forces, to be ready to deter whoever seek to undermine security and safety of Kuwait.
Sheikh Sabah expressed highest confidence that the armed forces would honor their duties in their defense of the country.
Air Marshal Al-Ameer, in a speech on this occasion, expressed gratitude for Sheikh Sabah for his visit to the armed forces, noting that the army has been always receiving your guidance and instructions with great attention.
Al-Ameer, reiterating loyalty to the Amir and the country, said the leadership of armed forces was following your guidance and realize the threats against "our stability, national security, and national unity and interests."
He said the army realized the sensitive conditions in the region, and the military measures that should be adopted to tackle them.
"Your sons have adopted whatever secures deterrence on ground, in air and in sea. The army of this nation belongs to this nation, to the people of this nation and leader of this nation ... whose orders we follow," he said.
The army is ready to sacrifice for Kuwait, its people, its regime, history and tradition, said Al-Ameer.
The chief of staff thanked the Amir and senior leaders in improving conditions of the armed forces.
Sheikh Sabah was accompanied by Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Head of the National Security Apparatus Sheikh Ahmed Fahad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Deputy Amiri Diwan Minister Sheikh Ali Jarrah Al-Sabah, Director of the Amir's Office Ahmed Fahad Al-Fahad, and Head of the Amiri protocols Sheikh Khaled Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah, the Undersecretary of the Crown Prince Diwan Sheikh Mubarak Al-Faisal Al-Sabah.
