The Iranian Ambassador Hassan Danayifar recently visited the politburo of the Kurdistan Islamic Union (KIU) in Erbil and submitted the official invitation letter to Tehran, KIU politburo member Samir Salim said.
Salim, who was making the remarks to Kurdio website( the mouthpiece of his party), added the ambassador's visit was to congratulate Mohammed Faraj, for his election as the new KIU general secretary.
Early May the elections were held during the six conference of the party and Faraj replaced Salahaddin Bahaaddin who led the party since its establishment in 1994.
Salim said the party is yet to respond to the invitation.
