KUWAIT, Jan 8 (KUNA) -- The Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) started on Monday interviewing the new off-border job applicants through the satellite linked videoconference system.

Ali Al-Shammiri Deputy Managing Director for Administrative and Financial Affairs said in a remark that through the closed TV circuit in Bambay, India, a number of applicants for specific Company jobs were interviewed.

He said this is based on KOC staffing plan that hinges on creating a core of skilled manpower to live up to the 2020 strategy. It also came after recent approval of the Kuwait Petroleum Company (KPC) on KOC request to increase the operations team by 2,545 employees in the coming five years.

He reminded that this contact system was run before to reach the operation sites in north, west and east Kuwait and to reach the KPC as well as the physicians at the Ahmadi governorate hospital and at the German, British and US hospitals.

In turn manager of the Information Technologies Group Hisham Al-Nouri said that the new technology has its own foolproof system, adding that contacts are carried out through a mega screen with other facilities to ease reading any documents.

Manager of Training and Career Development Ayedh Al-Hajri said the new system saved effort, time and cost of sending big delegations for interviewing the applicants.
