JUBAIL: Syed Hameed, principal of the International Indian School, Jubail (IISJ), opened a seminar on the new continuous and comprehensive evaluation (CCE) system introduced by India's Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) at a corporate beach camp here recently.

Organized by the Jubail Chapter of Students India, the program was attended by a large number of students and parents. Teachers Sanil Kumar and Seji of IISJ gave a presentation on the topic and answered queries from the audience.

There are 141 CBSE-affiliated schools in 21 countries including Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries. All educational institutions affiliated to CBSE including those within the Kingdom have been following the CCE system from the beginning of 2010.

The program began with a recitation from the Holy Qur'an by Master Shameem Raihan. Saudi coordinator Akbar Vaniambalam, Umarudheen and A.K. Asees spoke about Students India's activities for the educational development of Indian students in the Kingdom.

Bain Ben, Ashik Zain and Faizal Abdul Salam, winners of a presentation contest on the topic "Endosulfan is a Human Rights Issue" were rewarded with gifts while Faisal Abdul Salam rendered the message of Human Rights Day. Exhibits portraying the tragic effects of Endosulfan were also staged.
