Doha - Qatar's Shura Council Speaker Mohamed bin Mubarak Al Kholeifi met in Doha on Monday with Senate President Taher Masri who is attending the Doha Forum and Enriching the Middle East's Economic Future Conference.
At the meeting, which was attended by Jordan's ambassador to Qatar Zahi Mohammad Smadi, the two sides discussed means of forging closer relations between the two countries in various fields as well as boosting parliamentary cooperation between the Jordanian parliament and the Qatari Shura Council.
The Senate president extended an invitation to Al Kholeifi to visit the Kingdom within efforts to promote parliamentary ties.
In a statement to Petra's reporter in Doha, Masri highlighted the importance of exchanging expertise and visits among Arab parliamentarians for the interest of Arab peoples.
He also called for further coordination and meetings between members of the Jordanian parliament and the Qatari Shura Council.
