Amman - Jordan News Agency (Petra) Sunday signed a training agreement with the Middle East University MEU under which agency staff will offer expertise for students of the university's Faculty of Media and Communication.
The deal, sealed by Petra Director General Ramadan Rawashdeh and MEU Vice President for Academic Affairs, Professor Dia-Eddin Arafa, entails that the university grants a 30 percent tuition cut for Petra employees and their sons and daughters. The number of those benefiting from the discount should not exceed three a year.
Petra in return will train two media and communication students in its regular specialized courses, while the university invites Petra employees for free training courses at the university in media, humanities and administration and accounting. It also stipulates that the two sides run joint workshops and seminars on media topics.
Dean of MEU media faculty Helmi Sari stressed the importance of the agreement to exploit the expertise of Petra journalists.
