AMMAN (JT) - Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Judeh on Saturday said Jordan is following up with concern the latest developments in the Gaza Strip as a result of the Israeli escalation against Palestinian people in the coastal enclave which left several people dead, including children, and others wounded.
Condemning the Israeli assaults against the Gazans, Judeh called on the international community to put an immediate end to all Israeli military operations in the Strip.
The minister also stressed that the international community and all the concerned parties should take swift and tangible steps towards establishing an independent, viable and sovereign Palestinian state on the Palestinian soil within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The solution should be formulated on the basis of the Arab Peace Initiative and within an international context, as the only way to bring about a comprehensive peace and stability in the region, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, quoted Judeh as saying.
