The first exhibition and seminar on Russia-Iran economic cooperation will be held in Moscow during July 17-19.

According to Islamic Republic of Iran's Embassy in Russia, the first exhibition and seminar on economic cooperation of Russia and Iran has been jointly organized by Iran's Embassy in Moscow and Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines in cooperation with Russian Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Trade and Iran-Russia Joint Trade Council, IRNA reported on Thursday.

A total of 70 Iranian companies will take part in the exhibition, and they will display goods in construction sector, industrial resins, motor oil production, electric counter, chemical products, food stuff and hand-woven carpet.

The products will be displayed directly or their brochures will be presented at the exhibition.

More than 120 owners and executives of companies, including those which are active in export of hand-woven carpets, production of engine oil, chemical weapons and housing consultants, as well as companies building cement factories will participate in Iran-Russia commercial seminar.

Economists suggest that holding seminars and cooperation exhibitions of Iran and Russia can play a positive role in expanding trade relations between the two countries, as well as providing an opportunity to familiarize both countries with each other and establish cooperation in the field of commodities production and export.

Iranian and Russian officials believe that the volume of trade transactions between Tehran and Moscow stands at $4 billion annually which is not in concordance with the economic and commercial capabilities of the two countries.
