Abu Dhabi, Oct 31st, 2009 (WAM): A survey assessing recruitment through Jobs Abu Dhabi, an online recruitment system created by Abu Dhabi Systems & Information Center ADSIC, showed that the Emirate of Abu Dhabi witnesses a continuously increasing recruitment rate across all sectors as early as 2009.
ADSICs job, designated to help employers and job-seekers meet their mutual job needs, helped more than 2800 UAE nationals and residents find appropriate jobs. Abu Dhabi labor market, known to be highly open and flexible, promotes attracting and developing manpower that can meet local market needs. While the actual mixture of manpower demonstrates a challenge in terms of labor skills and availability, The Emirate of Abu Dhabi still enjoys a robust and dynamic labor market compared to the relatively stagnant counterparts across the world. The survey results were based on the responses of 42% of companies and establishments registered in the said job website. The Public Sector recruited 61% of applicants through this website of whom 43% are nationals. The Private Sector absorbed 39% of applicants of whom 20% are nationals. Accordingly, the efforts that have been exerted to attract an increasing number of skillful workforce and to encourage the nationals to work in the private sector were fruitful and successful. Commenting on the results, H.E. Rashed Lahej Al Mansouri, ADSIC Director General, said, "Jobs Abu Dhabi is basically designated to activate Abu Dhabi labor market, support ADGEs and NGOs in their recruitment-related efforts, and to improve the transparency of available jobs and eligible applicants. This initiative contributes to the realization of Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030 and enhances the economic and labor environment in order to create at the end sustainable and knowledge-based economy."Jobs Abu Dhabi portal performs a significant role as it introduces thousands of job seekers to the employing entities in the Emirate, and helps them obtain appropriate job opportunities in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Western Region, so they can enjoy a sense of stability, continuity and security. Moreover, the portal has become a world-wide platform for job seekers from more than 70% of the world countries. Jobs Abu Dhabi also seeks to ensure the prosperity of business sector (governmental and private) in the Emirate; it encourages citizens and residents to enter the labor market, conducts comprehensive improvements to the efficiency and service delivery of labor market, and evaluates the actual needs of the labor market on a regular basis in line with Abu Dhabi Policy Priorities in order achieve Abu Dhabi Government objectives: Create secured and confident society and build a sustainable, open and competitive economy. Moreover, Job Abu Dhabi website launches other initiatives intended to provide proper job opportunities to people with special needs. It encourages them to register in the website to facilitate the delivery of their CVs to employers. In addition to an increase in recruitment rate in Abu Dhabi labor market, the survey also shows a significant rise in citizens participation in both the public and private sectors. Jobs Abu Dhabi was recently awarded the Arab e-Content Award in the 2009 Regional World Summit Award (WSA) Competition, which was held during the Bahrain International e-Government Forum in May 2009. The award was in recognition of the internationally remarkable standing in the virtual labor market; meanwhile it supports Abu Dhabi Government initiatives to reach a high level of competency. Jobs Abu Dhabi tries to attract as many job-seekers as possible along with employers from both public and private sectors in order to provide hundreds of jobs monthly.
