Dubai: He may be one of Bollywood’s busiest scriptwriters, but Javed Akhtar always makes the time to invoke the poet in him.

On November 22, Dubai will be treated to an evening of poetry recital by the legend himself at Ductac, Mall Of The Emirates at 8pm. The father to actor Farhan Akhtar and director Zoya will also treat you to anecdotes as he recites poems that are close to his heart.

Akhtar is the son of Urdu poet and film lyricist Jan Nisar Akhtar and Safia Akhtar and is the seventh-generation poet in his family. He started writing Urdu poetry in 1980 and his first collection of poems, Tarkash, had rave reviews.

In Bollwyood, he has written scripts for blockbusters including Mr India and Betaab.
