Five Japanese karate grand masters will be arriving from Japan to Abu Dhabi by the Japan Foundation in Tokyo from February 17-20.

A karate demonstration will be organised for the public at 4:30 pm on Friday (February 18) at the Combat Club in the Abu Dhabi Health and Fitness Club under the patronage of Shaikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

This event has been organised by the General Authority of Youth and Sports Welfare, the UAE Wrestling & Judo Federation, the UAE Taekwondo & Karate Federation and the Abu Dhabi Health and Fitness Club. It is in cooperation with the Embassy of Japan in Abu Dhabi and the Japan Foundation in Japan.

National karate clubs in the United Arab Emirates will take part in the demonstrations.

On February 19, these masters will also conduct coaching and demonstrations for the students of the Abu Dhabi Police College. On February 20, they will visit Al Ain for a demonstration at the Police School there.

The organisers hope that this event will be an important opportunity for the enhancement of bilateral relations between Japan and the United Arab Emirates and also for UAE nationals and others better to understand the sport.
