MUSCAT -- With both Islamic Development Bank Group and the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE) aspiring to expand bilateral ties in related fields, a high- profile delegation from the Islamic Development Bank Group visited PEIE to discuss ways to bolster co-operation yesterday.
The delegation comprised Dr Irfan Bukhari, Manager, Public Private Partnership Division/Infrastructure Department; Dr Husain Mogaibel, Acting Manager, Energy Division/Infrastructure Department; and Dr Mohammed al Wosabi, Senior Country Programme Manager for Oman.
Received by Eng Musallam al Shehri, Assistant Chief Executive Officer of the PEIE for Operations, the three-member delegation held talks with top officials in PEIE, who in return promised to look into possible collaborations with the Islamic Development Bank Group.
The delegation's visit started by an introduction to the vision of PEIE, its objectives and its role in providing leasing to investors from all over the world, and offering them with the opportunity to invest in various industrial estates in Oman. The delegates were apprised about the investment opportunities in various fields in the Sultanate. Besides, the delegation discussed issues related to the facilities and services provided to the investors within the industrial estates in the Sultanate, and they further discussed the mechanism by which agreements and partnerships could be held between the two parts.
The visitors expressed their admiration for the quality of infrastructure within KOM and the various support facilities provided by PEIE to nurture a sound industrial sector. They also expressed their keenness to further strengthen and consolidate co-operation between Oman and Saudi Arabia, in the field of financing projects undertaken by PEIE.
