TEHRAN - The largest oil and gas platform steel jacket ever installed in Iran was put in place in its designated location in the Salman Oilfield, PetroIran Development Company (PDC) Executive Director Seyyed Mostafa Khoei announced, the Persian service of ISNA reported on Friday.

"The jacket is off only by 1.5 degrees, 20 centimeters, from its preliminary study geometrical position, which is of considerable precision," he stated, adding that the KPP Platform's jacket was carried and installed by Iranian contractors under Iranian management.

"A unique 5,000-ton crane vessel, of which there are only few in the world, transported and installed the jacket," the director noted.

The KPP Platform, weighing 1,300 tons, is 40 meters in each direction supported by the said jacket with eight columns, the first of its kind in the nation. The whole operation process -- design, engineering and construction -- is a remarkable marvel of work by the Sadra Company's engineers and exports.
