TEHRAN - The deputy commander of the Iranian Air Force has announced that new domestically manufactured and upgraded flight simulators have become operational. In an interview with the Persian service of the Fars News Agency published on Tuesday, Brigadier General Manouchehr Yazdani said that Iranian experts have designed and manufactured a flight simulator for the Sukhoi Su-24 jet fighter that is more efficient than the ones manufactured by Russia and Ukraine. He also said that Iranian experts are now capable of manufacturing highly advanced flight simulators. Elsewhere in his remarks, Yazdani said that Iranian engineers have managed to upgrade the flight simulator for the F-14 jet fighter. He added that Iran plans to design and manufacture flight simulators for its other fighter planes, such as the Mirage jet fighter.
Iran to unveil new UAV
The commander of the Khatam-ol-Anbiya Air Defense Base also announced on Tuesday that Iran will unveil a new domestically manufactured unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) next year. Brigadier General Farzad Esmaeili also pointed to an Iranian-made drone which was launched into Israeli airspace earlier this month and said that the drone flight was only "a small part of our show of strength." On October 6, Israel shot down an Iranian-made drone operated by Hezbollah that had penetrated hundreds of kilometers into Israeli airspace and gotten very close to the Dimona nuclear plant without being detected by advanced Israeli and U.S. radar systems.
