Mashhad - Iran plays a "determining role" in regional and international equations, Manouchehr Mohammadi an advisor to foreign minister said here Thursday. "Despite unfounded claims made by arrogant powers on Iran's isolation at the international scenes, the Islamic Republic moves toward development in all fields," Mohammadi said.
He added that Iran's 1979 Islamic Revolution has developed into an international move to fight against arrogance.
"The Islamic Revolution led to the awareness of Muslims across the world. The Muslim and freedom-loving nations have learned lessons from Iran's revolution and established Islamic movements such as the Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas aiming to fight against brutal acts of Israel and the arrogant powers," Mohammadi said.
He touched upon the sanctions imposed by the UN Security Council on Iran for its peaceful nuclear program and said, "The wise Iranian nation and officials turned threats and sanctions into opportunities."
The official added that many countries were dazed by Iran's great achievements in all areas including peaceful use of nuclear energy and space research and technology.
