Islamabad - A senior analyst on Wednesday said that Iran holds major position in the world and can fill the vacuum occurring because of United Nations' failure.

Talking to IRNA, Orya Maqbool Jan said that under the presidency of Iran, the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) will become stronger and more effective.

The analyst expressing his views said that Iran can play an important role in reducing the tensions between Turkey and Syria.

He said that Iran enjoys strong relations with Syria and Turkey and definitely both the countries will accept the role of the Islamic Republic in resolving disputes.

Orya Maqbool Jan said that the United Nations has failed to deliver and cannot achieve its objective. "A vacuum is occurring in the world because of the failure of the UN and that can only be filled by Iran," the analyst opined.

"Iran has to extend the forum of Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and replace United Nations," added the columnist.

Orya Maqbool Jan said that world is standing on a dangerous situation and there is a need of wisdom to handle the world's affairs.

He called upon the non-aligned world to stand united against the US and Zionist regime. "The world has to come out of the western influence," viewed the analyst.

He was of the view that Iran is a strong nation and cannot be defeated. He said that conspiracies by the US and Zionist regime to weaken Iran have been failed. "The strength of Iran is the unity of its people," he noted.

The analyst also called for forging unity among Muslim world to encounter conspiracies against Islam. The intellectual warned that the US and Zionists are trying to sow a seed of hatred among Muslims.
