Outgoing Iranian ambassador to Algeria Mahmoud Mohammadi and Speaker of the Algerian Peoples National Assembly Mohamed Larbi Ould Khelifa, in a meeting on Saturday, underlined the need for further promotion of bilateral ties.
The Iranian ambassador hailed the timely measure taken by the president of Algeria to call on the UN General Assembly for an urgent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
Mohammadi also expressed pleasure with Algerias active diplomacy which along with Irans has contributed to regional stability.
The Algerian speaker, for his part, described relations between Iran and Algeria in different fields as exemplary and urged both sides to make efforts to maintain these relations.
He hailed thousands of years of Iranian civilization, and said his country is happy that in recent years Iran has managed to properly deal with different challenges and Western sanctions on the country.
