RIYADH - Renowned interior designer Rosaline Tashdjian emphasized on the need to be familiar with simple rules that are sufficient to get satisfactory results when it comes to providing a harmonious house design procedure.
In a seminar held by Almutlaq Holding, represented by its new brand "Roomz", the US-educated Tashdjian told the "ladies-only" lecture at the showroom located at the intersection of the Northern Ring Road and King Abdulaziz Road in Riyadh, that a successful design archives mental comfort and tranquility at home for the end-users and guests, it was important to discuss and address some of the problems associated with space or the location of lights and ventilation, which are important factors in achieving an integrated unity of the design.
It is necessary for an interior designer to have the sufficient experience in architectural methods and techniques, as well as the materials and various ingredients in the implementation of decoration work. One should be familiar with the types of paints for walls and their characteristics, as well as the use of colors and their interaction with one another, and the degree of their absorption for light and its reflection to execute a harmonious and a smooth design in the house, she pointed out.
In addition to the type and the location of furniture used at home, it is also necessary to ensure that the use of colors suits the personality of the residents.
"For example, ensuring the use of warm colors (purple, blue and green) and avoid the extensive use of cool colors in the family home (red, orange, and yellow). Chronologically, colors come after furniture in terms of its role in spreading positive energy to and achieving happiness at home," she said.
Moreover, she "the impact of interior decoration extends to the physical, spiritual, and social needs of the people.
