DOHA: The Qatar Chapter of the Institution of Engineers is to hold a workshop on Information Technology in the first week of March 2010, with special focus on Qatar.

The workshop is basically meant to give exposure to the IT professionals in Qatar to the latest trends and best practices in the IT Industry.

The latest ICT Qatar- Madar Research report indicates Qatar has around 14,782 IT professionals and this figure is projected to go up to 17,886 by 2011.

There is a strong demand for advanced skill sets. To this effect dedicated modules on Corporate IT governance and ITIL standards and practices will be discussed in the course.

One of the modules featuring prominently will be IT- Infrastructure Management Services and ways to deploy state-of-the-art Corporate IT Infrastructure.

Information Security is another topic concerning companies in Qatar and across the world.

The workshop would deliberate on ISO 27001 among other Security Standards helping professionals especially in the financial sector to apprise themselves of the various means to secure their Information assets.

Besides these, sessions on Enterprise Application Strategy & Quality Management Best Practices in the industry will also be held as part of the workshop.
