JEDDAH: Preparations are currently underway for the fifth Industrial forum to be held in Jeddah soon. A group of the Kingdom's leading industrialists and businessmen will take part in the forum and their wide experience in the field of industry and related investments will be also analyzed.

Abdul Aziz Alsorayai, chairman of the industrial of the Jeddah chamber of commerce and industry (JCCI), said the forum includes a number of lectures and workshops.

The forum will highlight the importance of the role of various industries in the country's development plans. It will concluded with a number of recommendations that would positively contribute to the expansion of the country's industrial sectors, he said.

The forum plans to highlight the role of Saudi women in the Kingdom's industrialization strategy and training programs for them. Saudization of the sector will also be stressed at the forum, he said.

In addition, challenges facing the Kingdom's industrial development, Saudi government incentives, government future plans, contribution of Saudi youth to the country's industrial drive will be also discussed.

Alsorayai was also quoted as saying that the Saudi government has successively constructed the first and second industrial cities. The third industrial city will be completed by 2015.

"It is very essential for us now to build up the skills of the Saudi work force needed to run industrial projects," he said.

The forum's organizing committee comprises Ibrahim Batarji (representative of the industrial city), Alfat Qabani (vice chairman of the JCCI industrial committee), Ahmed Bafaqeeh, Abdul Aziz Abdullah Al-Kharashi and Fayez Shafiq Al-Madhoon.

The forum is strongly supported by the Saudi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Makkah governorate and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology.
