Impressed by Indian singer K.J. Yesudas' songs and worldview, B.R. Shetty, CEO and managing director, New Medical Centre Group of Cos, presented him with a Silver Spirit Rolls Royce yesterday.
Shetty made the announcement yesterday during a concert in Dubai where Yesudas was performing.
The idea, however, seemed to have had its genesis during an earlier concert in Abu Dhabi, where the visiting singer had happened to mention that he had come up through very humble beginnings, but God had been kind, and in the UAE during the current tour he has been using Shetty's personal Rolls Royce.
While Shetty was overwhelmed by Yesudas' songs, he confessed to being even more impressed by the singer's views, expressed during brief intervals between the songs yesterday.
Yesudas had noted it is high time humanity comes together in a spirit of tolerance and brotherhood, and shun fanaticism. The singer does a lot for the poor in India.
Touched, the Indian businessman decided to hand over his personal Rolls to Yesudas, who gracefully accepted the offer.
The car will soon be shipped to the required destination. Shetty added he will support all of Yesudas' ventures worldwide.
