CAIRO, July 18 (KUNA) -- International Islamic Trade and Financing Corporation's (IITFC) CEO Dr. Waleed Al-Wuhaib said Friday that Egypt accounted for a large percentage of the Arab economy and gave strategic depth to the Arab and Muslim worlds, which was why its experiences must be benefited from.
Al-Wuhaib was speaking to KUNA following a meeting with Director of the Foreign Trade Training Center of the Egyptian Commerce and Industry Ministry Dr. Saeed Talaat, during which IITFC signed a memorandum of understanding with the training center for the development of foreign trade skills in Muslim countries, especially in relation to export.
Al-Wuhaib said the individual experiences of Egyptian institutions were abundant and that the country had programs that could be benefited from in both Arab and Muslim countries.
The center, he said, organized a series of intensive training programs that prepared specialists to compete at the global level.Al-Wuhaib, during his visit to Egypt, had also met with a number of Egyptian economic and commercial official, as well as the Arab League's Assistant Secretary General for Economic Affairs Dr. Mohammad Al-Tuwaijri to discuss the holding of annual programs sponsored by the league, aimed at boosting logistic services and commerce in the Arab world.
The CEO underscored the importance of inter-Muslim cooperation in order to achieve the strategic goals that leaders of these countries had set, calling for employing the abundant human and financial resources available to Muslim countries in order to achieve sustainable development.
On the IITFC, affiliated with the Islamic Development Bank, he said its goals were to encourage and facilitate trade among member states of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) and to assist their institutions in terms of financing. It also provides technical assistance and training.
