DOHA: Project management professionals in Qatar can now access free online related courses through Qatar's National e-Leaning Portal.

The Supreme Council of Information and Communication Technology (ictQatar) and the local branch of Project Management Institute's Arabian Gulf Chapter (PMI-AGC Qatar) are working together to launch this free online learning project.

A special cluster of 30 courses in project management can now be accessed by PMI-AGC Qatar members to help them gain Professional Development Units (PDU) to maintain their Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or gain contact hours if they are planning to get certified. Dr Khalid Naji, President of PMI-AGC Qatar branch, sees the e-Learning Portal as an initiative that brings a prodigious knowledge base to the project management community in Qatar.

ictQatar introduced the National e-Learning Portal as an innovative service dedicated to sharing knowledge to educate Qatar's people and strengthen commerce. The portal offers more than 2,500 free online courses in a variety of topics, including business, technology, computer skills, human resources, marketing, personal development and management.

Members of PMI-AGC Qatar Chapter learned about the e-Learning course in an event hosted by the College of the North Atlantic-Qatar where they were taken through the easy registration process and shown how to take the online courses.

"We are pleased to work with Qatar's chapter of the PMI to bring these certified courses to Qatar's leading project managers. The Qatar National e-Learning Portal offers courses that will help our citizens advance their careers," said Reem Al Mansoori, ictQatar's Digital Inclusion Manager.
