MUSCAT -- The Sultanate will host Technological Convergence & Mobile Applications symposium next Monday at Grand Hayyat Hotel, organised by the Transport and Communications Ministry in collaboration with the Arab ICT Organisation and the Arab Radios Union. The two-day symposium aims at developing ITC, providing the necessary mechanisms to enhance co-operation and integration among the audio, visual and communications services in the Arab countries in light of the convergence between communications and media.
The symposium includes three working sessions on "Broadcasting Technologies and the New Standards", Mobile TV, the commercial model and the legal and organisational framework and the mobile applications.
A number of international experts, as well as representatives of the Arab countries, international organisations and private sector companies will take part in the symposium.
