DOHA: Concerned over the growing number of cases of H1N1 in Qatar, the Qatar Scrabble League have been telling students participating in the ongoing scrabble endurance training to observe sanitary hygiene during their weekend sessions at the International Academy for Intercultural Development (IAID).
Judith Britten, QSL chairman, said they have issued a circular on September 1 for the students mostly coming from Indian schools to follow as health guidelines against the spread of swine flu virus while playing scrabble at the endurance training.
There are about 16 people including students, mentors and QSL officials attending the training in preparation for the upcoming World Youth Scrabble Championship in Malaysia in December.
Britten said QSL had taken the initiative to maintain a healthy playing environment at the IAID specially that the participants are students coming from different Indian schools in Doha.
Students were told wash their scrabble sets and tile bags and at the same time sanitize their board and boxes before they are allowed to play the games.
They are also advised not to attend the sessions if they are not feeling well or having some coughs and cold.
