Dubai: HP on Wednesday introduced HP Split x2, a versatile, two-in-one detachable PC that combines power and portability, during Gitex Shopper 2013.

The company said in a statement its portfolio of next-generation PCs are designed to enable users to connect with their information on devices that easily adapt to their needs. “By releasing the magnetic hinge, users can move elegantly between the two form factors — tablet and notebook PC — all in one device,” HP stated.

It added that the HP Split x2 is a two-in-one detachable PC that combines power and portability with the Microsoft Windows 8 operating system and powerful third generation Intel Core processor family.

HP ENVY x2 ultraportable notebook doubles as a 33cm (13-inch) tablet to give unparalleled entertainment capability for playing games, videos and more. The HP Split x2 joins the HP SlateBook x2 and HP ENVY x2 as part of HP’s detachable PC portfolio.

The 33.8cm (13.3-inch) diagonal HD touchscreen display, meanwhile, makes it easier to view and share content, play games with friends and family, or enjoy high-quality music with Beats AudioTM providing for an audio experience on a PC.

Further, an optional hard disk in the base expands storage capacity while dual batteries allow users to stay ultra-mobile.

The HP Split x2 is available in the Middle East with a starting price of Dh3,626.
