UAE-based women and girls who wish to participate in next year's House of Talents exhibition are being encouraged to submit applications soon.

The Dubai Shopping Festival office has so far selected 25 talented women for the House of Talents. The exhibition will run for 10 days at its new location in Dar Al Nadwah in Al Seef Street. It is sponsored by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI).

Organised under the patronage of Shaikha Hind Bint Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum, wife of General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Defence Minister, the House of Talents provides a platform for UAE-based women and girls to showcase their creativity. Applicants have to submit work from a variety of fields, including interior design, architecture, fine arts, unusual hobbies, photography, handicrafts, music, creative writing and poetry and theatre.

All entries must be made or created by the applicant herself, and must never have been publicly exhibited before.

The exhibition this year will include a charity expo organised by the Daughters of Zayed. The expo will host a photo gallery displaying rare pictures of Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the first President of the UAE.

Women and young girls who wish to apply for the House of Talents should complete an application form and submit it along with samples of their work and the nonrefundable registration fee of Dh200. The Art Committee reserves the right to reject applicants whose work does not conform to the theme of the event. The deadline for applications is January 15.
