Cairo, July 2, 2005 (WAM)--President Mohammed HosniMubarak of Egypt, received here today General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, who is currently on a two-dayfraternal visit to Egypt.
Sheikh Mohammed conveyed the greetings of President H.H. SheikhKhalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the Egyptian leader, wishing the Egyptianpeople every progress and prosperity under his wise leadership.
Sheikh Mohammed hailed the role being played by Egypt under the leadershipof President Mubarak in the interest of the Arab nation, expressing hisappreciation to the astounding progress being witnessed by Egypt in variousfields.
The Egyptian leader conveyed through Sheikh Mohammed his greetingsand wishes of good health to President Khalifa and his wishes of moreprogress and prosperity to UAE and its people.
During the meeting, they also discussed avenues of cooperation betweenthe two countries and means to further enhance them in a way that wouldserve the common interest of the two countries and people.
The meeting also reviewed developments in the Middle East region,particularly the Iraqi and Palestinian crisis and reiterated their permanentstance in support of a comprehensive peace process in the region in accordancewith the international resolutions.
Mubarak hosted a breakfast banquet in honour of Sheikh Mohammed,which was attended by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister ofInformation and Culture, Khaldoun Al Mubarak, Chairman of Civil ServiceDepartment, Brigadier Abdullah Muhair Al Kitbi, Director of the Abu DhabiCrown Prince's office and Ahmed Al Mail Al Zaabi, UAE Ambassador to Egypt.
Among those who attended from the Egyptian side were, EgyptianPrime Minister, Dr. Ahmed Nazeef, Minister of Defence, Field Marshal MohammedHussain Tantawi, Culture Minister Farouq Hosni, Information Minister,Anas Al Faghi and Tourism Minister Ahmed Al Maghrabi, who is also Headof the Honorary Mission accompanying Sheikh Mohammed.
