Hilton has opened its second property and first 'worldwide resort' in Ras Al Khaimah.
The first phase sees the launch of the deluxe villa suites all within 30 metres of an 800-metre stretch of white, sandy beach and features private patios with mountain and sea views. Set in a private bay, the resort also introduces two restaurants and two bars.
"With a burgeoning tourist sector, the emirate is one of the region's most talked about hot spots," said Mohab Ghali, the resort's general manager.
In March 2007, a 2,000 sqm sea-facing spa will open with nine treatment rooms, hairdressing salon, sauna, Jacuzzi, Turkish Hammam Bath and spacious steam, fitness, aerobics and relaxation rooms.
On completion in 2008, the property will provide a further 330 rooms, overlooking the Arabian sea.
The Hilton Ras Al Khaimah Resort & Spa complements Ras Al Khaimah's existing Hilton property, the 227-room Hilton Ras Al Khaimah and Beach Club.
In other news, Hilton is expanding its presence in Dubai with the region's first Conrad hotel opening in 2008, Hilton Jumeirah Beach Residence in September 2007 and Hilton Dubai Beach Club in January 2008.
The company's development pipeline extends to Doha and Kuwait, with openings in 2008.
