According to the website www.leaders.com.tn, the Hilton hotel chain will soon return to Tunisia, following the recent signing of a managing agreement between Hilton Worldwide and the Societe Touristique Tunisie Golfe.

Following the terms of the agreement, the "Karthago Palace" Hotel located in Gammarth, north of Tunis, will be renamed "Hilton Tunis Carthage Hotel". Mr Patrick Fitzgibbon, Senior Vice - President of Hilton Worldwide, said that the agreement illustrates company's desire to have a Hilton hotel in each capital throughout the world. The newly renamed hotel will start operating early in 2010.

Mr Dave Horton, Global Head at Hilton Hotels hailed the agreement saying that Hilton is "glad to bring its style, international quality service and managerial approach to Tunisia, which represents a qualitative market for us".

On his part, Mr Belhassen Trabelsi, the Chairman of Karthago Group and the Société Touristique Tunisie Golfe said that "We wanted to work with a global hotel name which will buttress our ambition to provide top of the range services to our customers."

The Hilton Tunis Carthage Hotel is a five star hotel perched on the hills of Gammarth, overlooking the Mediterranean, a stone's throw away from Sidi Bou Said and Carthage.

The hotel which boats 283 rooms and suites, also has 4 restaurants, a lounge bar, two swimming pools, a fitness centre and a spa which is set to become the largest thalasso therapy unit in the capital.

The hotel is also located 5 minutes from the new state of the art Gammarth golf course. Conference and banqueting facilities will make the hotel one of the best fitted for the holding of major international meetings and events.
