Abu Dhabi, Feb.14th,2006 (WAM) -- Mohammed bin Dhaen Al Hamili, Minister of Energy, left here today for Pakistan,leading a delegation of public-private sector representativesto explore prospects of joint economic, trade and investmentcooperation.
Al Hamili said his visit would open up new avenues inthe bilateral relations and cooperation, noting that the recent visitmade by President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Pakistan and his talks with Pakistani President General Pervez Musharraf had laid down a solid foundation for a new take-offin the distinguished relations between the two brotherly countriesand peoples.
Given the value of UAE investment in Pakistan and Pakistani workforce in the UAE, the minister said that the Emarati-Pakistanieconomic and investment relations had seen remarkable progress.
During his four-day visit, Al Hamili would hold talks withGeneral Musharsaf, prime minister, as well as ministers of oil and gas, water and energy and privatisation and investment,to explore contributions of UAE public and private sectors toinvestment projects under Islamabad's ambitious economic development plans.
Al Hamili indicated that the International PetroleumInestment Company (IPIC) had carried out in cooperation with the Pakistani government and companies major investmentprojects in energy sector.
The delegation accompanying Al Hamili comprises representatives from the ministries of energy and economy, department of economy and planning in Abu Dhabi,IPIC, Abu Dhabi Investment Company, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), Dolphin Energy Limited (DEL),Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industryand Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
