A guide to the legal and commercial aspects of setting up a business in Dubai has been published by Dubai Development and Investment Authority (DDIA).
The book, Setting up in Dubai, covers the immigration and customs issues applicable to business people.
"It is an exhaustive reference book for anyone wanting to set up a business in Dubai and covers aspects from general information about life in Dubai to immigration and customs procedures, information on institutions and bodies, to the legal mechanisms available for carrying on business in Dubai," said Salem bin Dasmal, deputy director general, DDIA.
There is also information on procedures for setting up business where there are foreign investors.
The book also gives an overview of the labour practices in Dubai, the formalities a new business will need to complete regarding labour aspects and a summary of the UAE Labour Laws.
"Dubai has generated a lot of interest from investors both from the regional and international markets," said bin Dasmal.
"But even within a world-class trading centre, setting up a company entails a number of procedures and regulations. This book will be an indespensible tool in understanding and navigating through these procedures and setting up business in Dubai."
The book was published by DDIA in conjunction with Al Tamimi.
