Iran and Germany signed a contract on port cooperation at Iran's southern port of Shahid Rajaei.

Managing director of Iran's Tidewater Company said the contract was signed by Tidewater Company and Germany's HPC Company.

Abdolhamid Mallahzadeh added that the contract is in line with a long-term agreement between Tidewater and Iran's Ports and Shipping Organization on handling port operations at Shahid Rajaei Port, IRNA reported.

He announced that the contract aims to improve maritime services in Iran's southern port of Shahid Rajaei.

Since no expiry date has been mentioned in the contract between the two companies, Mallahzadeh said the agreement is based on the two countries' joint cooperation on strategic management of container terminals.

"As per the agreement, German experts in Hamburg port will cooperate in the fields of technical and engineering services, marketing, safety, information technology and operation management at Shahid Rajaei Port.

HPC is an independent company within Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) group and is the port operator of Hamburger, the ninth largest container-handling port in the world.

The Tidewater Company offers a vide range of maritime and port services, including shipping, dredging, transit, civil projects and technology.
