Ajman The Ajman Court of First Instance sentenced three people to one year imprisonment each and the main accused to three years in absentia for forging 107 work visas for Dh60,000.

The court presided over by Judge Omar Obaid Al Ghoul ordered all the accused to be deported after they complete their jail term.

The three are charged with involvement by agreement to assist in forging documents of the Department of Residence and Foreigners Affairs, and receiving cheques for the forgery.

According to court records, the incident took place on January 3 this year when someone contacted the Al Madeena Police Station complaining that the main accused offered to help him with visas for Asians to work in his company. He agreed to issue 107 employment visas for Dh60,000.

The prime accused received a cheque of Dh40,000 initially and another cheque of Dh20,000 after delivering 107 copies of work visas. Later, the complainant discovered that all the visas were forged in an apartment in the Al Bustan area in Ajman.

The police arrested three accused and seized the cheques given by the complainant. The police also raided the apartment of the three in Al Bustan area and confiscated the tools used for forgery. However, the main accused is still at large.

The three were sentenced to one year in prison followed by deportation for involvement and abetting in the forgery. The other accused was given three years jail term as he was running the business and arranging for the forgery.
