RIYADH - The Forbes magazine of the US has listed Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah in the top ten powerful people list of 2013, Saudi Press Agency reported Thursday.
The survey covered 72 powerful global personalities, some of whom included heads of state.
The magazine focused also on the Kingdom's important status in the Muslim world as well as around the globe. It referred to the various reforms initiated by King Abdullah.
Observers said the King was selected due to his gigantic efforts and reforms to bring the Kingdom to the forefront of advanced countries and help it keep pace with the other countries.
The initiatives adopted by King Abdullah to support global security and stability and further moderate Islam were stressed by the magazine.
The Forbes' most powerful people list included Russian President Vladimir Putin, US President Barack Obama, Pope Francis, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Bill Gates, of Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, US Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke, European Central Bank President Mario Draghi, Wal-Mart CEO Michael Duke, and UK Prime Minister David Cameron.
