SINGAPORE- Firefighters put out a fire earlier on Monday at a south China-based receiving terminal for liquefied natural gas now owned and managed by China's pipeline giant PipeChina, according to local fire brigade.

No.2 tank at the Beihai terminal, at the Tieshangang port of Guangxi province, caught fire around noon local time (0400GMT) and fire was later put out, according to a report posted by the local firefighting agency on its official micro blog.

It's not immediately clear if main operations of the terminal was affected.

Calls to the terminal went unanswered.

The terminal, which started operation in 2016, has a designed annual handling capacity of 3 million tonnes.
