MUSCAT -- With its focus on everything important to women, Women Expo 2007 will truly be a showcase of women empowerment in the Sultanate when the exhibition formally opens on December 9 at the Oman International Exhibition Centre in Seeb. The six-day exhibition, organised by Omanexpo, will feature a wide range of products and services covering all that matters to women -- from their looks and careers to health, homes and families. A large number of local and international companies have confirmed participation in the event.
"Women Expo is held annually in recognition of the valuable role that women play in the country's social and economic development," said C J Paul, General Manager of Omanexpo. "As the only exclusive exhibition for women in Oman, it specifically caters to all their needs and interests." Paul pointed out that Women Expo 2007 will not simply be an exhibition of beauty products, jewellery and women's fashion. The international exhibition will highlight educational opportunities available to women, home improvement products as well as products and services for safeguarding women's health and ensuring the proper growth and development of children.
The event will feature live demonstrations and workshops designed to enrich the skills of women. Among the educational activities are cookery demonstration, flower arrangement, cake decoration, napkin folding and vegetable carving. "The strong participation of local and international companies makes Women Expo a must-see event for all women in the Sultanate," Paul said. Melwin D'Cunha, Project Manager of Women Expo 2007, said the international exhibitors include companies from Bangladesh, Cyprus, Italy, Singapore, Syria, Tanzania, India, Pakistan, Thailand and the UAE.
