ArabFinance: Etisalat Misr has recently received 40 megahertz (MHz) of new frequencies within 2,600 band from the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA), the company’s ِActing Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Hossam El-Meadawy said in a statement.

The newly allocated frequencies will help the company meet the increasing demand for data transfer services, El-Meadawy pointed out.

The telecom company also plans to invest around EGP 5 billion to EGP 5.5 billion in 2022, he remarked.

These investments will be pumped into supporting Etisalat Misr’s abilities and position in the market to provide the optimum services for its customers, in line with the company’s accelerated growth of customers’ base, her added.

Throughout 2022, the company’s strategy will focus on maintaining the development of services and bolstering investments into future technologies such as internet of things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and smart cities.

On February 8th, the NTRA announced the allocation of new 30-megahertz (MHz) frequencies within 2,600 band to Orange Egypt via time-division duplexing (TDD) in return for $440 million.
