Abu Dhabi, July 20, 2006 (WAM)---Etihad Airways and Jeppesen (UK)have signed a contract which will see OPS Control, Jeppesen'spremier flight operations management system, installed in theUAE national airline's Operations Control Center in Abu Dhabi.
Etihad has signed up to the flight planning, weather & NOTAMand EasyBrief modules.Ian Ferguson-Brown, Head of Brand Management and Communicationat Etihad Airways, said: "Due to our existing commercial relationshipand excellent support provided by Jeppesen (UK), signing up toOPSControl was an easy decision. We will continue to work closelytogether in future."The rapidly expanding airline chose the OPSControl system onthe basis of its ability to integrate with the airline's otheroperations systems, increased automation and streamlining ofdispatch functions.
OPSControl enables airlines of all sizes to perform profitabilityanalysis, schedule planning, crew management, flight and decisionsupport tools, and post-flight analysis. The system integrates, automates and streamlines operations andmanagement functions, allowing operations staff to monitor moreaircraft and manage more flights effectively. The new deal strengthens the existing bond between the two companies,with Etihad already using Jeppesen's Airway Manuals, OpsDataand E-Link systems. Etihad Airways, voted the world's leading new airline in 2004and 2005, currently operates an expanding fleet of aircraft,including 12 Airbus A330-200s, two A340-500s, one A340-300,five Boeing B777-300ERs and one B767-300ER, which serve 34 globaldestinations.
