Property developers ETA Star has entered into a strategic tie-up with Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces to develop and operate a luxury beach resort at the Palm Island Jumeirah crescent in Dubai.

The resort will commence operations with 220 rooms, including deluxe guestrooms and luxurious suites, providing guests with all the modern-day facilities and services including specialty restaurants, banquet facilities, health spa and an entertainment club.

It is proposed to be modelled around an Indian palace, taking its inspiration from the various palaces in Rajasthan and blending it with traditional Arabic architecture.

Abid Junaid, executive director of ETA Star Properties, said: "ETA Star has been quick to make its move on the UAE's property scene with residential and commercial projects in advanced stages of development in prime localities. We are delighted to have entered into a partnership with India's leading chain of hotels to manage our resort development in Dubai.

"We are confident that, with the proposed launch of the Taj Group's luxury resort at the Palm Island Jumeirah, ETA Star will further strengthen its leadership in Dubai's property market."

To be unveiled in 2007, this luxury resort will cater to the premium leisure and business travellers. With its excellent location on The Palm, the resort has the advantage of offering partial views of the sea, Burj Al Arab, Madinat Jumeirah and other landmark sights of mainland Dubai.

Raymond Bickson, managing director of the Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL), said, "This is part of IHCL's strategy of expanding into the key gateway cities of the world. Dubai today is fast emerging as a commercial hub of the region. It continues to grow as an important business and tourism destination for travellers from across the globe.

"A second hotel in Dubai is proof of the vast potential that it holds. This new luxury resort will clearly reinforce Taj's dominance of the South Asian region." In addition to the new venture in Palm Jumeirah, ETA Star's commercial and residential projects are in various stages of development at Jumeirah Lake Towers, Dubai International Financial Centre, Dubai Marina and International Media Production Zone.

"The ETA-Ascon Group has been bringing expertise in the field of construction and project management to the UAE for over three decades. The company was constantly looking for ways to leverage its expertise. Since its formation, ETA Star is focused on freehold property development in Dubai's booming real estate market," said Junaid.
