MUTHANNA: Muthanna's investment commission has given the green light to a local company to build an entertainment complex in Samawa city at a cost of nearly $800,000.

"A local contracting company will carry out the project in al-Hussein neighborhood, Samawa city," the head of the commission, Adel Dakhil Mohammed, told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

The estimated completion period of the project is 18 months, Mohammed noted, adding that it will encompass restaurants, entertainment facilities and a shopping mall.

Samawa, the capital city of Muthanna province, lies 280 km south of Baghdad.
