ABU DHABI, 19 Mar, 05 (WAM) - Emirates Post has announced that thefacility for payment of electricity and water bills of Dubai Electricityand Water Authority (DEWA) is now available at all 78 post offices acrossthe UAE.
Earlier, the service was available only in Dubai post-offices.The service is being offered through the sophisticated Point of Sales(POS) system at the post offices, with a direct link to DEWA computerizedsystem, providing real-time transaction information to DEWA offices,according to a press release.
"We are pleased to collaborate with DEWA authorities to extend thisservice all over the UAE," said Abdulla Al Daboos, Director Generalof Emirates Post. "The facility of payment of DEWA bills represents animportant step in Emirates Post's drive towards offering multiple non-postalservices under one roof, in association with government organisationsas well as private companies for the benefit and convenience of the community."The DEWA bill payment was first launched in November 2003 in 23 postoffices in Dubai only. It is being extended to the whole of the UAE tomeet growing demand.
