CAIRO, 4th March 2014 (WAM) - Egyptian Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab received here today UAE Minister of State Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber. The meeting was held in presence of Mohammed bin Nakhira Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to Egypt, Saeed Mohammed Al Miqbali, Under Secretary of the Ministry of Presidential Affairs for Community Affairs and Mohammed Haji Khouri, Director of the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation.
The Emirati delegation congratulated the Egyptian Prime Minister on the formation of new government and re-affirmed support to Egypt and the Egyptian people. The meeting touched on the efforts being made to implement Emirati projects in a way that will contribute to the stability and prosperity of Egypt and enhancing sustainable development of Egyptian economy. Mahlab praised the deep-rooted ties between Egypt and the UAE, the foundation of which was laid by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. He also lauded the progress made by the UAE in all domains and said that the Emirati projects will have positive political, economic and social impact on the Egyptian people. Dr. Sultan Al Jaber said he conveyed greetings of the UAE leadership and emphasised the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces to work towards boosting UAE's relations with Egypt, focusing priorities on the needs of Egyptian people and contributing to security and stability. He added that the Egyptian Prime Minister briefed him about the economic incentives the to be adopted by new Egyptian government. "Egypt is seeking to shape a new economic road map with flexibility and ability to make significant achievements in the short term. The two sides reviewed UAE-funded development projects in Egypt which include construction of family medicine units in 23 provinces, 100 schools, 50,000 housing units for youth and grain storage silos. The projects also include automation of the railway crossings, sewerage systems for dozens of villages and production lines for vaccines. The Sheikh Zayed Hospital in Manshiat Nasser, built by the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, was opened in October 2013.Copyright Emirates News Agency (WAM) 2014.
